A couple of months ago, my dear friend Kholyn uploaded this picture on her FB album and it got me really inspired.I thought," hey, I want to make one too!: So I got her advice and pointers and I head myself to the starting line. well...not really at once.( I thought quilting was peanuts :P ) I went Google & YouTube crazy trying to figure out how and where to start off, there was gazillion to choose from and staring on the monitor gave me migraine and wasted a lot of time.
So... I skip one or two rules and got myself comfortable by compromising , and by that , I mean A LOT! Mahahuhauahuaaa!
Bought the cheapest cotton fabrics of white, green, red, blue and yellow all in 1 yard each, a gamble measurement to fit Vin just enough. and started to sew. My last post talked about my crappy sewing machine gave up on me, so this time I had to hand-sew my quilt. It took like forever! I pricked my fingers almost a hundreds times and bleed, I sew the wrong sides, I broke a needle , I swear and a whole lot.. but alas, it's all worth it...
Yeah... My blocks are everywhere and not evenly lined up.. trial & error.. lesson learned :P
I found a fabric-like sticker and cheat-applique it on the front side. Darling help me on the sticking part :)
Then finished it off with my pathetic blanket stitch which I thought makes it more realistic.
And Darling use it as a play-mat during the day, where he'll stretch out the quilt and lie down on it while watching TV or when mummy is facebooking :P
Uuuu...I've got so many ideas to put my hands on sewing, along the way to sharpen my sewing skills-still a long way to go, but I must say, If we put our mind into it, there's nothing can't be done. Saying so, I'll steal every little time I can get.
If you see my hands are full, you should see my heart.
