DIY Baby Bedding

LATE POST - ROOM TO ROOST : Part I }

Just before I was about to enter my 3rd trimester. I had been really busy "nesting". Hubby had assemble Avan's old baby cot a little bit too early so I thought I best make the most of it.

So first thing first. New baby, new bed sheet.

DIY BABY BED SHEET

Thanks to Joy of www.howjoyful.com for her bedding and nursery roundups. Sewing this piece was so easy! Here is the before and after picture with Momo on the bed.

Material :
Printed cotton fabric
Elastic
Sewing machine

It seems that I was so much into orange and owls ;) blame it on the hormones ?

DIY BABY BED BUMPER

My next mission was to make a baby bed bumper. Do you know how much a store bought bed bumper cost ?!!!
Avan had a Snoopy themed bed bumper but I wanted both bumper and bedding to coordinate so with whats left ( I dint bought enough owl printed fabric, buhu), with some mix and match ideas, I am so very happy with myself. weeee!

I have also used the tutorial at Joy's Roundup, so go ahead and check it out at the link above ya.

Materials :
Printed Cotton Fabric
Batting ( Mine was recycled from Avan's old bumper )
Ribbon
Bias tape

Here is some pictures I took while making this bumper :

My Mix & Match fabrics

I used a bias tape for a nice decorative edge

I cut out some 10inch ribbon straps

and attached it on while sewing the binding

My finished project.
what do you think?

I went back to the fabric store to get the same owl fabric for my baby pillow and bolster but it was sold out. Hwaaaa!
So I guess the store bought set will just do then.

In case you missed it. Here's the awesome link to take you where I have been.

Thank you so much for being here. kindly leave your comment about this project. I sure love to hear your feedback.

XOXO Michele
