Look what has arrived ...



My Kek Sarawak bought from Kholyn has just arrived. This is my second Kek Lapis Sarawak in a week! I bought it based on the fact that it can be stored for 3 months!
I have no idea why it is named Hati Pari -(Sting Ray Liver) Literally! But I guess I need to find out...

but it taste yummy! It taste like chocolate & raisin at the same time, but i don't exactly know the real ingredients.

If you are wondering what kind of cake I'm referring about, here's some general information about it.

Sarawak Layered Cake, or famously known as Kek Lapis Sarawak is one of Sarawakian Special delicacies, baked on special occasions but now has been widely commercialized. What makes it special is that the time and effort a baker has to put up to.I learned that baking these cakes takes patience and only a diligent baker can bake a delicious cake. To make the colorful layering, cutting and layering the firm cake texture must be done in perfect thickness.

Although I have never tasted the original Kek Lapis Sarawak before, but based on what I have observed, these cakes have been modernize to suite the community demand on various flavors and from the creativity of the baker themselves.


I however never observed the price, thus it's quite unlikely that I can comment on that. Perhaps I will have more input from my readers.
