I'm Sewing!

Last month I online-purchased 10pcs of cloth diaper that was on sale at RM20/pc. It was one of my effort to save some greens and Avan was getting diaper rash from continuous usage of disposable diaper. I must thank Felicia for coming up with the topic when she came to visit.
I thought 10pcs was enough but the unpredictable weather proved me wrong. Although I washed it every single day, at some days it just rained and took a longer time to dry. The sale ended at the end of June and the price hike up to RM35/pc - which was quite expensive for me. So I thought I'll just make some myself. and I did!

My huge appreciation goes to all the crafters around the world who took effort posting their How-to's on YouTube. I found a video that was clear in instructions and became her fan since then.

Armed with my blunt scissor and a crappy sewing machine. I got hubby's old Hawaiian Shirt and relieved to put Vin's old blanket to a good use that was left to rot on the storage box. For the record, I already suck at gardening. Im just hoping to acquire sewing skills, fingers crossed, hoping to get this job done.

To begin with, I printed out the pattern and assemble it. Then carefully cutting the patterns onto the fabric.

and began my crazy sewing. Dang! cant even sew in straight lines!?? yada~yada~yada~ WALLA!

What started out as a try-out turned out quite well.... hehehe.... I myself can't even believe that I actually succedded. Yeay Me!

"Snug as a bug in a rug"

There was some leftovers, so I thought I sew a hanky!

A pair of baby booty? Why Not?!

And so, I became addicted. Then I sew one for Big Vin too. Yes, I did just that.

Hmmm, maybe..  I'll make a few more for Avan...

I accomplish all of these in a single Sunday juggling myself with sewing-house chores-Avan and Vin. Stopped only to realize that I've ran out of fabric to temper with and that crappy sewing machine of mine finally gave up   on me.

To my inspirator, girlfriend Kholyn. I haven't finished my baby quilt yet, but I promise I will - I'll make you proud.

Interested sewing these on your own?
